Master Émile Vernier Cello
Émile Vernier is a line of instruments violin & cello created created by Ilja Grawert – Violinmaker modelled after a Parisian atelier producing handcrafted violins, violas, and cellos, as well as a small selection of bows. The workshop follows the traditions of the great French luthiers of the 19th and early 20th centuries: meticulous hand-work, deep respect for materials, and a belief that a fine instrument should serve the musician. Applying his half a century of experience as a Luthier these instruments are done with the perfection only European craft can deliver.
The philosophy is simple. Every instrument, regardless of price, receives the same fundamental care. The differences between models lie in the amount of individual attention, the age and quality of the wood, and the complexity of the varnish. No instrument leaves the workshop until it is ready to be played in public.
All Émile Vernier instruments are made from seasoned northern tone woods – spruce and maple and finished by hand in the tradition of a Paris atelier.
