Making a violin

Date: 3rd of November

Finally I got around to start some making again. 
After selecting the model I want to use, a Joseph "filius Andrea“ Guarneri from 17.... ( I still have to check on  Date)
I made the aluminium template already a while ago as well as the mould. The blocks I did some time ago as well
I only found time today to select the right wood, matching and well seasoned for approx 20 Years

thin out the sides with my beautiful scraper plane made by Lee Nielson. I have never tried to use the scraper       plane before for planing flamed maple but it goes so nicely and smooth over even flamed maple that I was           wondering how else I did it for the last 25 Years.
